House District 51 encompasses parts of east and south Austin and all of southeast Travis County. It is home to diverse neighborhoods with great restaurants, excellent parks and fun festivals.
East César Chavez and its surrounding neighborhoods are home to some of the oldest homes in Austin. You can spend the morning eating migas at Tamale House East or Juan in a Million and enjoying local craft brews in the evening at Hops & Grain or the Grackle. The Pachanga Latin Music Festival is held at Fiesta Gardens every May.
South Congress is a popular strip featuring unique shops, fun restaurants and delicious food trucks. A few of the many popular stops include Big Top Candy Shop, Opal Divine’s, Farm to Market Grocery, Güero’s Taco Bar and Home Slice Pizza.
- The Circuit of the Americas, inaugurated in 2012, hosts visitors from around the world for the F1 United States Grand Prix, MotoGP, music concerts and many other big events.
- McKinney Falls State Park is a scenic picnicking and hiking destination for many families.
Other great communities include Del Valle, Onion Creek, Creedmoor and Mustang Ridge.
