Rep. Rodriguez has accumulated a talented and diverse staff who are excited and prepared to help him represent the needs of the constituents of House District 51 in the 83rd Texas Legislature.

Chief of Staff: Nate Walker has worked in Rep. Rodriguez’ Capitol office since 2007. Nate’s first political experience came in Eddie’s first campaign in late 2002. Following Eddie’s election to the House, Nate went on to work for two other members of the Texas Legislature. Nate was a member of Senator Ellis’ Texas Legislative internship program in 2003 before working for State Rep. Senfronia Thompson, Democrat from Houston in 2005. Nate then went on to start his own consulting firm, which he still operated in his free time. Nate specializes in policy areas of Transportation, Higher Education, Energy, and Water.

Legislative Director: Selena Saucedo Booth joined Rep. Rodriguez’ staff in the Summer of 2012. Prior to working at the Capitol, Selena worked at a successful, local minority owned communications firm. Selena earned accolades as a graduate of the University of Texas Law School. Her policy areas of expertise include public education, housing, licensing, and animal welfare.

Legislative Aide: Although this is Bonnie Bacarisse’s first experience in a legislative office, she is no newcomer to Texas politics. Bonnie was born and raised around the Texas Capitol and one might say that politics is in her DNA. Bonnie is a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She specializes in the areas of food policy, criminal justice, public safety, and ethics law.

Legislative Aide: Deisy Jaimes is the newest addition to Rep. Rodriguez’ staff. A member of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus’ Internship Program, Deisy has overcome many obstacles to get to where she is today. Deisy and her family immigrated from Mexico when she was a child in search of opportunity in Texas. Deisy excelled in academics from a young age and her hard work paid off when she earned her degree from St. Edwards University. Deisy’s areas of expertise include immigration law, health and human services, and veterans issues. Deisy also manages constituent services for House District 51 and is fluent in Spanish.
