San Antonio Court Adopts New Primary Election Date

Today, the Federal Court in San Antonio adopted a new date of April 3rd, 2012 for the 2012 General Primary Election. This means that there would not be multiple primary election dates, which was a major concern because it would have resulted in lower voter participation. The order also sets a filing deadline of February 1st for candidates and allows the court to determine the beginning of filing at a later date. This order was agreed upon by both the Texas Democratic Party and the Republican Party of Texas.
